Nothing But Space was created to illustrate a creative block I was going through. I'd try and paint these ideas in my head but I just felt there was a void each time I'd try. I believe this painting is an accurate representation of what I was going through at the time.

The world at times wants to convince people that they're free while being bound, blind and controlled. It's up to us to seek the truth that will set us free.
I worked on a really cool project recently called 'The Little Green Jacket', a children's book for award winning author Jodi Dee. The entire book was drawn in black and white except for the green jacket. Jodi Dee is partnering with Planet Aid and will be doing a national campaign and launching the book on Earth Day.

You'll want to pick this one up because while working with Jodi it didn't take long for me to realize she's very passionate about sending a great message to the youth. In a world with tons of children's book that don't deal with real world experiences, this one will be a great addition to the family.
Whenever I work on projects and it involves painting a female character I usually(if I can) put a mole above the right eyebrow. My wife has one there so it's always a nod of respect towards her. It's why you won't see me painting half naked female characters in my work. Personally I think that style needs to fade already, nothing triggers the eye roll quicker than when I see amazing artists paint this wonderful female warrior and she's nude from her waist to her thighs.
Sometimes you just want to paint and not try to overthink things., some of my best works were created this way. Overthinking (overworking) can pretty much kill just about anything. Raven’s Flight might not be much to look at but it’s actually one of my favorites. Less is more kind of thing. :)
Predator Commission
It’s always a pleasure to do artwork based on one of my all time favorite movies. I just don’t think they can ever top the first Predator film, I still watch it even 30 years later.

I originally did this painting for a huge Superman fan in Texas, it was featured in a Brett Culp documentary called ‘Look to the Sky’, it has also been sold to raise money for different charities.

I wanted to paint a Hero, so I painted a school teacher. Anyone that had/has Richard Reeve as their teacher knows they have something special. I always hear of the countless number of kids this man has affected in such a positive light. This guy can't go anywhere without someone excitedly saying "Mr. Reeve!!!". Yet, he remains humble and ever positive no matter what comes his way.
This pink tree ended up being one of my popular paintings. Made the cover to an art magazine in the twin cities and has sold world wide.
I had the honor of doing the Artrage 5 cover art, this is the artwork you see on the splash screen and promotional images. The concept was to create an Artrage 5 portal in a cold world but yet you see warmth, beauty and something different inviting you in.

Commission done for a guy that races baja trucks. This painting was centered around a particular race called “The Chupacabra”, the fun part was adding a chupacabra in there without it looking cheesy. So I put him in the dust the truck was stirring up. You can see an outline of him to the right of the birds.
One of my most popular pieces I’ve created, and one of the most used pieces all over social media. I see this thing get shared EVERYWHERE and get 100,000’s of shares/likes and zero mention of who created it. :) Just remember folks, we try and make a living with our artwork and when people take them and never give credit to the artist it’s really a disservice to them.
I personally maybe got 40 likes and a couple of shares on my FB page, but I constantly see others sharing it and getting several hundred thousands shares and likes with no mention of my name. If you like this work and you’d really like to help me out, then please mention who made it.
I created this series as a parody to Fallout’s Nuka Cola and Coca-Cola vintage ads. The funny thing is there were some people who thought Atom Bomb Cola was a real product back in the day.

A while back they were installing a security wall in the local courthouse and Lori asked me to draw something on the sheetrock. The idea was to have everyone sign around the drawing before they put the wood/marble on it. To my surprise the sketch I did ended up being a conversation piece to where people in the surrounding buildings kept dropping by to look at it. The construction workers didn't want to damage it so they built a protective layer around it so it would still be there if the wall was ever torn down.
I told Lori if I had known it was going to be this popular I would've done something better than a charcoal sketch. I ended up doing a more refined version, prints were made and Lori gave one to each judge she worked with as a parting gift since her law clerkship was over.

A painting of a northern male cardinal I did for my sister-in-law. While you can purchase prints of this, I always refer to this one as Lacy’s cardinal as it was done specifically for her. She’s always been a big supporter of my work and I dare say she has more paintings of mine in her home(that she insisted on paying for) than anyone else I know.
I painted this in front of a group of people that were attending a charity event to raise money to support the local arts.

From my own experience in life sometimes the path I'm on may come to a dead end with no sign of what direction to take next. When going back isn't an option it's usually then when I keep the faith and one is revealed.

Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan
These were mock magazine covers done to raise money for charity. Each cover was unique to the individual, even down to the year symbolizing something important to that person.
We had a blizzard roll through town that shut down everything for several days. I had to walk out to my car and when I saw both mine and my wife’s car buried in the snow, this idea of a Star Wars tauntaun came to mind.
I remember being in my early 20’s and seeing Mr. Bean for the first time, I thought his behavior was so odd but that’s what made it fun to watch. I still watch an episode when I can even 20 years later.
There was a time I wanted to create a T-shirt line, here’s a few dive related designs I had done.
Female version of Clint Eastwood’s character ‘Man With No Name’
This limited edition print was on my old website that crashed. I was handling the sales myself but only sold close to 20 prints. It was a test to see how much I could sell directly from my page to justify a store. I have several distributors and online galleries that sell my work world wide but to be honest I personally don’t have enough exposure to my name yet to sell directly from my site.
I would love to do this though because it would cut out the middle man and place the control in my hands. Maybe it’ll come back to the store, it’s definitely a goal of mine.
People are going to have their opinions about what you should or shouldn’t be doing, where you should go and how to get there. Truth be told this is your journey and it’s up to you to not concern yourself with what others are doing or thinking, break the mold and discover your own path in life.
The rewards are much more meaningful.
Where one door closes, another will soon open. I originally did this Commander Shepard (Mass Effect) as a commission but the original person dropped communication and never paid for it. It sold rather quickly to someone else who wanted it for his gaming room.
This was a commission done for a grandfather and his 14 grandchildren. Not much info was given on the family but from what I could tell he was the owner of a sports team. (ha yeah that minor thing)
The concept spawned from the fact that he would always leave the cutouts of the newspaper comic Peanuts/Charlie Brown to his family. His kids wanted to do something special for him so they hired me to paint all of the grandchildren and him in this style.
The concept behind this is piece is that life can thrive even when it’s surroundings are completely toxic. The tree is surrounded by salt water which would kill it but receives it’s nourishment from the sun, rain and is high enough to avoid the danger below.
