I get asked a lot on where the inspiration came from for the ‘Woman In Red’ series or if it’s my wife that I’m painting. I’ve just always liked seeing paintings that were done with a woman dancing in a red dress. The bright red dress in contrast of a soft background with the sense of movement from the dancer has always appealed to me. I used to think hyper realism was the way to go in all my work but I’ve come to realize that it’s better to see a work of art and know that it’s a work of art. The visible brush strokes and movement in color and paint yield better results for this particular series. When I get time I’m always adding to this collection.
It’s done quite well actually, one of them in particular has been one of my highest selling works, ever. It was featured in Vogue magazine and has been featured in numerous art magazines.
You can purchase any of the Woman In Red paintings on your choice of medium such as fine art paper, metal, canvas, wood and plexiglass. I would consider getting gallery wrapped canvas for the best results.
